Ingredients
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp salt, divided
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp Splendor Garden Organic Cumin Ground
3 cups water
1 cup Splendor Garden Organic Green Split Peas
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, add water and garlic and bring to a boil.
Add the green split peas and return to a boil. Then cover and reduce heat to let simmer for 25 minutes.
Stir in half the salt (1/4 tsp) and cook for another 15 minutes or until the split peas are tender. Once done, drain the water.
In a blender or food processor, add olive oil, salt, lemon juice and cumin ground. Blend until smooth. You may need to scrape the sides in order to fully blend.
Tip: If you don't have a blender or food processor, you can easily mash the peas with a fork.
