What about Cumin? Did you know Cumin is a dried seed of the herb Cuminum cyminum, which is a member of the parsley family? Interestingly, Cumin sometimes gets confused with caraway as they are both from the parsely family.   Cumin is a dried seed of the herb Cuminum cyminum, which is a member of the parsley family. This spice has a warm, aromatic fragrance and flavour that it pairs well with other herbs and spices such as: allspice, anise seed, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, ginger, oregano and mustard seed. Cumin can be used ground or as whole seeds. It imparts an earthy, warming and aromatic character to food, making it a staple in certain stews and soups, as well as spiced gravies such as curry and chili.
