Apple Danish Bars


1 cup butter

2 1/2 cups flour
1 egg yolk + milk until you have 2/3 cup (reserve the egg white)

1 cup crushed corn flakes
5 cups apple slices

2 tsp Splendor Garden Apple Pie Spice
1 cup sugar


Mix together butter, flour, and milk/yolk mixture.
Roll out onto cookie sheet.
Save some dough for the top.
Sprinkle with crushed cornflakes, then spread apple slices evenly on top.
Sprinkle with sugar and apple pie spice.
Cover with remaining dough, pinching in the edges.
Poke holes in the top to allow steam out.
Brush the crust with reserved egg white and bake at 350º for 30 minutes.
