Everyone loves a nicely grilled steak, but there is so much more you can grill this summer that everyone will enjoy. Try out an idea below for hacking your BBQ before summer ends!

Grilled Romaine

Yes you can! Look for firm and fresh romaine. Slice it lengthwise. Brush it with a bit of olive oil, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and put it on the grill. Watch it closely as it doesn’t not take long until edges are crispy and lettuce is hot and tender on the inside. Serve with a generous dusting of parmesan.

BBQ'd Eggplant

Did you notice all the patio eggplants this year at the greenhouses? If you bought one you probably have an abundance of small purple eggplants, but the question is what do you do with them? Grill them of course!

Eggplant is a great source of fibre and adds a splash of purple to your plate. Slice eggplant into thick chunks and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle generously with Steak and Grill Seasoning.  Pre-heat your cast iron skillet on the BBQ and add the eggplant once fully heated. Cook for 4-6 minutes until tender. Grilling adds a delicious smokey flavour that pairs well with eggplant.

Grilled Beets

These easy to grow veggies are packed with flavour and nutrition. Forget about boiling your beets and grill them instead!

Do not peel the beets. Slice the stems off just above the beet's flesh making sure to not puncture beet skin. Add a bit of olive oil and wrap in tin foil. Grill for ¾ hour or until tender. The larger the beets the more cook time they will need. Use rubber gloves to unwrap tinfoil and simply squeeze beets out of their skin. Chop beets and top with butter, salt, and pepper.

BBQ'd Zucchini

Have an abundance of Zucchini this summer? Save the small and medium ones for grilling!

Slice Zucchini lengthwise and brush with olive oil. You can add fresh garlic or garlic granules and throw them on the grill flesh side down. Flip after 3-6 minutes. The smaller the zucchini the quicker it will cook.
